Projects
Things I build on my own time โ CAD and 3D printing, an iOS app, and the occasional machine restoration. Same instincts as the day job, smaller budget.
Gridlet
My wife and I lost our daily crossword to a paywall. Four months later I had a word bank, a puzzle generator and an iOS app in review, and I still cannot write a line of Swift.
Golf Putter
Designed in Fusion 360, manufactured across two continents. The head form came from a factory in China. The grooves and the finish came from a shop twenty minutes away.

Pinecil Case
Four iterations of a 3D-printed case for an open-source soldering iron โ and a Fusion 360 refresher disguised as a project.
Low Profile Split Keyboard
An Allium58, built twice and used daily. A number pad kit proved I could do it, and a Lily58 taught me what I did not want.
Cyclist Blind-Spot Monitor
A LIDAR-based rear detector for a bicycle. Cars approach faster than you can hear them, and a mirror only helps when you are already looking.
Fume Extractor
A portable solder fume extractor that runs off DeWalt battery packs, built once soldering stopped being an occasional chore.
Lathe / Mill Restoration
A thirty-year-old lathe-mill combo, stripped and brought back into tolerance.
Tool Storage Wall
A wall of 3D-printed holders, designed around the tools I own rather than the ones a pegboard expects.
